Little Golden Books as cast member gifts
One BIG part of each trip we take to Walt Disney World includes handing out hand-made and purchased cast member gifts. We LOVE meeting new cast member friends and keeping in touch with them between trips! Showing love to them not only makes them feel so special, it also shows my children that Disney World is not just about big-name characters and riding rides. It’s about spreading magic of your own, too. Especially to those who are far from their families, part of the Disney College Program, and often get treated rudely by heated guests.
Today’s “Cast Member Love” post is one I hope you can do at home with your children when preparing for your next trip!
LITTLE GOLDEN BOOKS
We purchased several $4.99 and under Disney Little Golden Books from Amazon. Let your kids pick their favorite characters you plan to meet while in parks, or their favorite movies that may go with some of the parks’ themes. Here are some quick examples below:
Magic Kingdom: Cinderella, Tangled, Dumbo, Mickey, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast
Animal Kingdom: Up, The Lion King, Jungle Book, A Bug’s Life
Hollywood Studios: Star Wars, Vampirina, The Little Mermaid, Frozen
Epcot: Coco, Alice In Wonderland, Snow White, Inside Out
We love to give CMs a book that maybe has to do with the area they work in, or the character they work with.
Next, we open the front cover and write a sweet message! This can be a variety of words: a “thank you” note, “thinking of you” theme, or just a simple “you’re awesome!” type of deal! Just something to let them know they are appreciated. We chose an excerpt from a specific poem by Brad Montague over at Montague Workshop (you HAVE to go see them if you haven’t! What magic makers!) called “Don’t Hide Your Magic.” To us, it’s perfect for giving a boost to someone who gives so much to others and sometimes feels like no one notices.
