A jolly holiday with Mary in the most magical costumes

Mary Poppins is one of my most favorite characters to meet at Walt Disney World! You can find her in two parks: Magic Kingdom and Epcot. In Magic Kingdom, she will be in Liberty Square (behind Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe) in the mornings during select times, usually beginning around 9:30, but doesn’t meet all day. She can also be found at the Grand Floridian at the 1900 Park Fare breakfast meal. But, my absolute favorite place to meet her is at Epcot!

Mary meets in the beautiful United Kingdom pavilion daily in the World Showcase at Epcot. I think I love meeting her here so much for several reasons: 1. It’s her home! Since Mary Poppins is set on Cherry Tree Lane in London, England, this meet and greet spot seems less generic and more special…like you’ve been transported into the film! 2. There are so many other things to do in the pavilion before and after your M&G. Stroll the shops (the perfect place for Winnie the Pooh lovers and those who want all the British merch) ooh and ahhh over the beautiful tea sets in Twinnings, or my favorite-play in the garden maze! Kids love this one :)

There is typically a good line for Mary, but it usually moves quickly and shouldn’t be much more than 15-20 minutes in length. She does sign autographs-but there may or may not be a Photopass photographer present. So, make sure to have your camera ready!

Mary typically begins meets when the World Showcase opens at 11am. That’s a great time to meet her-go straight to UK when entering the WS and go to the back of the pavilion. On rainy days, she usually gets moved into the closest gift shop by the Pooh merchandise. Her meets usually last into the afternoon but don’t go passed 2:30…so make sure not to wait to meet her!

You can always check your trusty My Disney Experience app for meet times and exact location, under “Characters.” My favorite character tracking app though is Kenny The Pirate’s Character Locator website. It’s a small price to pay to know exact times and locations of all characters, and it’s updated weekly so it stays as accurate as possible.

We also LOVE to give Mary special gifts-just to let her know that we appreciate her and value her time with us. Here are some things we have made her!

Vintage book box: This was handmade by us using a vintage Mary Poppins Golden Book and a simple box from Hobby Lobby. We simply cut and ModPodged…stay tuned for a post about all of our vintage/worn book character gifts!

Mary Poppins bubblgum necklace: handmade by us as well, supplies bought from various shops on Etsy. Stay tuned for a big post all about how to make bubblegum necklaces for characters and cast members with your kids!

And here’s a little bonus magic moment…we met the same special Mary several years later and got to sing “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” with her during our visit. It was definitely a Jolly Holiday!
